This is a question that I have been getting asked a lot lately having recently come out and I thought I would just share my experience with you. First, I should point out that I believe sexuality is all about self identification. For example, personally I am not the biggest fan of the word queer, the word is really grounded and used as hate speech. I self identify as bi-sexual but I often refer to myself as gay because I use the word gay as an overarching term to mean “not straight.”
The reality is I have found men attractive since I was a child and I fantasized about being with men as much as I did women. So there is no really “how did you know.” I just find men attractive. I mean as a straight male how do you know your straight? Just because society told you to like women, no, you just find them attractive and you don’t find men attractive. I really think it is that simple. In the case of bisexuality you find both sexes attractive and you fall somewhere on linear line swaying either more towards women or men. For me I just happen to be more towards the male end of the spectrum.
So, there you have it, that is how I know I am gay. lol Anyone have similar or different feelings? Feel free to comment and start a conversation.
